About me
Ana
Montañez
Political Scientist
Data Analyst

I'm a political scientist and data analyst with an MPA in Technology Policy and Innovation from Columbia University, and a minor in Data Science for Public Policy. My career spans government, nonprofits, and academia across Latin America and the United States, always focused on using rigorous evidence to improve how programs serve the most vulnerable.

As a Research Fellow at Columbia Journalism School, I'm building open-source, modular AI pipelines. My current project builds an AI agent to read and extract insights from NYC public budget data for non-expert audiences.

I have deep experience designing Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) systems at scale, from AI chatbots reaching 100,000+ women across Latin America to national education databases for UNESCO and OECD assessments.
